July 2

12:12 p.m. An accident was reported at Highway 5 and J46. A 1994 Plymouth driven by Gary Neil Stookesberry, 66, of Ottumwa was stopped waiting to turn left and was struck in the rear by a 1997 Chevrolet driven by Chad Robert Jones, 33, of Cincinnati. The sheriff said Jones stated he had turned to speak to one of his children and when he looked up he was unable to stop, striking Stookesberry’s vehicle. Listed as injured were Jason Stookesberry, 37, of Bettendorf, Brett Allen Jones, 10, and Brandon Lee Jones, 13, both of Cincinnati. Stookesberry was cited for failure to prove security and Jones was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage was estimated at $1,000 to the Stookesberry vehicle and $1,500 to the Jones vehicle.

July 3

12:19 p.m. Kevin Dean Stansberry, 43, of Ottum­wa was charged at the courthouse with fourth degree theft, third degree burglary and probation/parole revocation.

July 3

10:52 p.m. Dragons Lilly Mosher, 38, of Mystic was charged in the 400 block of North 2nd in Mystic with disorderly conduct.

July 4

11:22 p.m. John Clarance Wendland Jr., 27, of Centerville was charged in the 400 block of North 2nd in Mystic with unlawful assembly and three counts of willful injury. At the same time and place, Michael Anthony Ruckman, 23, of Centerville was charged with unlawful assembly and simple assault and James Robert Bohn, 29, of Mystic was charged with unlawful assembly.

July 5

5:28 a.m. Ashley William Inman, 29, of Ottumwa was charged at the Appanoose County Jail with failure to register as a sex offender.

8:11 p.m. Michael Edward Bills, 20, of Mystic was charged at the Appanoose County Jail with unlawful assembly.

11:59 p.m. Kyle Robert Brown, 30, of Des Moines was charged in the 11000 block of Bridgeview Place with boating while intoxicated. He was charged by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
