Every two seconds, someone, somewhere needs blood. During the winter months the need for blood is constant, however, poor weather conditions can make it challenging for donors to give blood. In an effort to boost the blood supply during the winter months, January has been designated as National Blood Donor Month to encourage donors to give blood. Just one unit can help save the life of up to three hospital patients.
You can make a difference by making a life saving blood donation at the next Centerville Community Blood Drive. The blood drive will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 from 12-5 p.m. in the bloodmobile at Grace Tabernacle Church, 914 N. Park St. in Centerville.
For more information or to schedule an appointment to donate, contact LifeServe Blood Center at (800) 287-4903 or visit www.lifeservebloodcenter.org.
