---- — October is upon us with all its beauty. We will enjoy the cooler weather and the beautiful colors.

Our Better Choices/Better Health classes will end on Oct. 15 of this month and those taking the classes have really enjoyed them. The classes will be offered again in the spring, so if you were not able to sign-up for them this fall maybe you will be able to take them then.

On Wednesday, Oct. 9 we will have a flu clinic held at the building. The Appanoose County Public Health Nurses will be hosting the clinic. This will be open to the public from 9-11:30 a.m. The cost for the shot is $25 unless you have Medicare and then you MUST provide your medical cards to receive them free. No appointment is necessary.

On Friday, Oct. 11 we will have bingo prior to the noon meal. The menu for the day is pulled pork on bun, acorn squash, creamed peas, tropical fruit and vegetable juice. Bingo will start at 11 a.m. with the meal to follow at 11:30 a.m.

Monday, Oct. 14 is Columbus Day and our site will be open. In the past this was one of the days off, however it is not now. We will have a special program with fun trivia about Columbus Day at 11 a.m. The meal will follow at 11:30 a.m. which includes pork cutlet, scalloped potatoes, brussel sprouts and blushing pears.

Wednesday, Oct. 16 will be the start of the “Fresh Conservations.” This is the new program that is taking the place of the old Chef Charles. It will start at 11 a.m. The chicken dinner will follow.

Thursday, Oct. 17 will be our evening monthly Birthday Party with co-op. The meal will start at 5 p.m. Bring your covered dish and table service. Bingo will follow the supper.
