Friends of Drake Library hold last 2012 meeting

CENTERVILLE — Friends of the Drake Library took action on severval items at the Oct. 30 meeting. Passing and getting approval were paying to renew WILBOR Books (online books), renewing magazine subscriptions for the year, paying for felt for the children’s section’s tree project and possibly appropriating for a plaque listing and thanking all individuals and businesses that have generously consented to being Friends of the Drake Library sponsors.

Again thanks to Dorothy Cornett, we will have the children’s metten tree. Our quilt raffle will begin in January. Our gift wrapping bas been changed to Dec. 8 starting at 9:30 a.m. and lasting till 2:30 p.m. at Dannco on the  Square. The library continues to have a two volume Appanoose County History book set on sale for $25, specializing in the year 1913.

Our tree trimming will be Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 3:30 p.m. Officers for the 2013-2014 year were approved being; President Colene Chebuhar, Vice President Deanna Allen, Secretary Lois Hays, Treasurer Lora Kelly and Directors at Large are to be Jeanie Russo, Jane Cramer, Sue Sacco and Helen Carlson.

Compliments were extended for the nice library articles in the Appanoose Living magazine. Our next meeting will be Jan. 29, 2013 at 4 p.m. We extend an invitation for any individuals or businesses to become library sponsors and help in the continued progress and maintenance of the Drake Library’s offerings and services. Thank you community supported with your dollars and your participation in all of the Friends activities and projects. Attend a meeting and help decide on how the Friends support our Drake Library.
