---- — At the FFA State Convention held in Ames April 21-23 the Centerville FFA Chapter was involved in many areas of FFA. We also received some awards within the Chapter. Hunter Moore and Maranda Rupalo received their Iowa degrees. Katie Bratz received a gold for her chapter exhibit. Maranda Rupalo applied for and received first place in the Environmental Division of the Community Development Award. Melissa Chapman, Kirsten Brauman, Erissa McGill, Branson Bachman, Shelby Thamke and Jeremiah McGrann were all members of the Courtesy Corps. Ty Stewart, and Hunter Moore were delegates during the business session and helped to elect the new state officers. Arianna Litke and Evelyn Rogers participated in the Greenhand Quiz. Trey McCoy, Haven Talbotand Hannah Sales sang in the choir. Brett Bauman played in the band. Everyone that went to state was involved in packing Meals from the Heartland. While at state we went on a tour of John Deere Des Moines Works in Ankeny and visited the ISU meat lab. There were some sessions each day where speakers talked about agriculture. The highlight was watching Sam Glenn create a chalk art painting and listening to his motivational speech. There was a talent show with very good singers. We also enjoyed swimming at the hotel and eating at Hickory Park on the way home. A big thanks to our drivers, Jodie McCoy, Tracy Morris and Elizabeth Gaskins.
