---- — The Franklin Farmhands met on Dec. 18 for their regular meeting. Some things that were discussed were: Enrollment online is due by Feb. 1 and weigh ins for market lambs and meat goats will be held Saturday, May 3 from 8-10 a.m. at the fair grounds
Jan. 11 was the Appanoose County 4-H banquet beginning at 6 p.m. Our club did a first aid basket so everyone needed to bring an item to donate. All 4-Hers were asked to bring canned goods for a community service project. The food was donated to a local family.
Our club was informed that we are the recipient of a Monsanto Grant. We will be thinking about how to use the money to help our community. Thank you to Ernie Schmell for nominating our group.
Demonstrations were given by Wyatt and Paige Heesch on how to make a Christmas popcorn snack. The pledge to the 4-H flag was led by Rose Lana Vanderlinden and the pledge to the American flag was led by Dugun Glenn.
Our next meeting will be Sunday, Jan. 26 at Adams’ Bowl in Centerville from 4-6 p.m.
After the meeting, refreshments were served by the Heeschs, Furlins and Merritts.
