EXLINE — Hi folks. My name is Michele Carlsten and my husband is Doug Carlsten. We have been asked to take up reporting the Exline news. Please be gentle and patient as this is something completely new to us. Hopefully we can put all of the news on our town’s people and happenings coming up. So here we go.
This recipe is a great fake out and everybody seems to love this moist lovely cake.
Heavenly Apple Spice Cake
One box of Spice cake mix
1 can of apple pie filling
Cream cheese frosting
Mix the cake according to directions on box. Mix in the apples. Pour into a 9x13 cake pan. Bake till pick comes out clean. It might take a little longer than the box says to cook because of the apple filling. Let cake cool for about 15 minutes then poke little holes with a skewer and top with frosting.
Eat warm. This is just a heavenly cake.
Now on to the news —
Pat Huebner is home and doing well, she says she isn’t up to visitors but if you would like to send cards you may send them to 29072 263rd, Moulton, Iowa 52572. We wish for a speedy recovery.
We have had some births around here and funny thing is the ladies are all recent or current employees of the Exline Store. Megan and Tim Berger had a little boy on March 22, Lyndsay Snyder and Justin Sprouse had a little girl, Josie, on Nov. 8 and Donna Davis became a grandmother to Leo Johnathon Shaffer on April 20 by daughter, Angie Davis, and Phil Shafer.
We have several new residents to the town. Welcome Dennis and Angel Marcott.
We also have upcoming weddings. Carla Wells is getting married in June and my own son, Jeremy Carlsten, and Kayla Calvert will be married Sept. 21.
