Kid's World holds art gala

On the evening of May 16, families filled a classroom on the IHCC campus to attend the Kid’s World Preschool Young At Art Gala.

The exhibit featured art created by the preschoolers in Ms. Johnson’s four-year-old preschool class as part of their Art Study. The children learned about specific art styles and artists. The children then completed new “masterpieces” honoring the style, artist, and or/technique. The children were truly proud of their accomplishments, and it certainly showed in their smiling faces.

More than 300 pieces of art were displayed for everyone to enjoy. This year’s Gala was dedicated to preschool principal, Kathy Cossolotto. Mrs. Cossolotto is retiring this year. She was presented with a piece of art from the children as well as a copy of their “Young at Art” book. The children assisted in making the book to document their work during the Art Study. The children also planned to hold a held a book signing.

The Iowegian wants readers to think about rental permit fees. The Centerville City Council has conducted two working sessions and a third one is planned in order to get a feel for the public's appetite about raising rental permit fees from charging a landlord $25 every two years to charging a certain amount per rental unit per year. So, the question of the week is, "Are you in favor of Centerville increasing rental permit fees?"

A. I'm in favor.
B. I'm not in favor.
C. I'm not sure.
