---- — July will have lots of activities for the seniors. Once again, in the event you have not been down by the club you must do so. We now have the siding complete and look forward to putting up the maroon shutters and numbers.
We had a firecracker of a fun Fourth of July party on Wednesday, July 3. We had our fried chicken dinner, potato salad, corn and black bean salad, watermelon and hot rolls. Prior to the meal we had various games including several ring and Frisbee toss games, bowling, grand prize bucket toss and of course the annual “Watermelon seed spitting contest.”
Thursday the site was closed for July 4.
Today we will be having liver and onions, parsley butter potatoes, mixed vegetables, hot roll and ice cream cup. For those wanting a different meat choice, call.
Monday, July 8 we will start the sign-up for the Ames, West Bend and Emmetsburg trip. This trip will be August 5-7. We will tour the Iowa State University Reiman gardens, tour the wind turbans, Grotto of Redemption in West Bend and stay at the Wild Rose Casino in Emmetsburg. This trip will be $140 per person double occupancy and include; $25 in casino bucks, two free breakfasts, two free lunches, transportation and lodging. We must have 40 to take this trip however only 54 will be able to go. Tuesday is 2X’s slot play day and 50+ day also.
Tuesday, July 9 we will be having our first of the month Wii bowling tournament. Heats start at 10 a.m. and run with four people playing every half hour. Call or stop for your time. The meal for the day will be; ham salad sandwiches with lettuce and tomato slices, potato salad, broccoli, cantaloupe and oatmeal raisin cookie.
Wednesday, July 10 we will have the Appanoose County Public Health nurses in doing blood pressure checks at 10:45 a.m. The Caregiver program will start at 11:15 a.m. followed by the chicken dinner at 11:30 a.m.
Thursday, July 11 all those going to Alaska need to call and come in between 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Bring your passport when you come. We will individually be getting on the web site and looking at shore excursion options. At 5 p.m. we will have our monthly birthday party with co-op. Bring your covered dish and table service and bingo will be played following the meal.
Wednesday, July 17 we will have our Chef Charles program starting at 10:45 a.m. The Caregivers program will follow Pat’s program with lunch following that. Come early and enjoy the day.
Tuesday, July 23 will be the second Wii bowling tournament. The menu for this day is meat loaf, baby red potatoes, broccoli, hot roll and orange juice.
Wednesday, July 24 will be the IHCC nursing program. The topic for the program in “Stay Cool.” Door prizes and gifts will be given to all.
Friday, July 26 we will play BINGO prior to the meal. This will start at 11 a.m. with three maybe four games being played before the meal of; pork cutlet and gravy, baked potato with sour cream, peach banana and strawberry medley, hot roll and ice cream.
Wednesday, July 31 we will have the Caregiver program at 11:15 a.m.
