---- — Mercy Auxiliary met April 25 in the hospital cafeteria for its general meeting and salad luncheon. President Jean Leach welcomed members present and thanked Verna Romerman and her committee for furnishing the salads. Bob Pontious won the rose donated by Flower-Tique. Evy McDonald gave the blessing.

President Leach introduced Jody Runyon, head of the emergency room, and Jay Pratt, ambulance supervisor, who presented an informative and interesting program on the ER, ambulance and helicopter services at Mercy Medical Center.

After the program, a brief business meeting was held. Jeanie Pontious read the minutes of the April board meeting and treasurer Jeanie Pratt gave her report. More than $1,000 was made from the jewelry sale.

President Leach announced that the Hospital Employees Tea, held during Hospital Week, will be May 15 from 2-4 p.m. in the cafeteria. Members signed up to furnish cookies. Pediatric tours for first graders will be May 12 and May 13.

A bazaar planning meeting is scheduled for May 19 at 1 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church on Highway 5 south. Volunteers are urged to attend.

Bob Pontious announced that the hospital will award seven scholarships in May; five from the Auxiliary and two from Legacies Foundation. Recipients will be our guests at the May luncheon.

The next regular meeting and luncheon will be May 23 at 1 p.m. in the hospital cafeteria. New members are always welcome.
