---- — On Friday, April 11 the four-year-old preschool class at Kid’s World took a field site visit to the Hy-Vee bakery. The children have been conducting a baking study in their classroom. While at Hy-Vee, the children were able to tour the bakery where they saw how cakes, cupcakes and cookies are made and decorated. They also saw how rolls and muffins are made. The children then made observational drawings of the display cases where many of the sweet treats are sold. Finally, the children took a walk down the baking aisle where they discussed the many ingredients needed to bake things from scratch. The children are excited to return to their classroom and begin work in their own bakery.
