Friends of Drake Library hold May meeting

The Daily Iowegian

---- — At 4 p.m. on May 28 at the Drake Public Library, the Friends of the Drake held their monthly meeting. Approvals were given for money for projects for the Summer Reading Program, renewal of the WILBUR (e-books) program for another year and allowing for a pool party cook out to celebrate the completion of the Children’s Summer Reading Program about “The Dig.”

The bake sale’s proceeds will all be used to buy books for circulation and usage within the library We thank all who helped with the bake sale. Discussion was held on the fall raffle fundraiser and the Friends gave approval for Jaini to try to purchase an American Doll online to kick of the program. It was noted that 185 books were downloaded with WILBUR in April.

A few sponsorships and memberships have ben added. We thank all who willingly support our library and its workings. Dog Day has been so successful and just maybe we can have Cat Day or Pet Day. It’s worth considering. The next meeting will be Aug. 27 at 4 p.m. See you soon at our community’s Drake Library.

Happy summer — happy reading.
