MUNICIPAL BAND

CONCERT, will be held at the bandshell on the Square at 8 p.m. with an ice cream social before.

HONEY CREEK, 9-10 a.m. – Stand Up Paddleboarding Basics – Learn the basics of SUP. Solo paddle boards and paddles will be provided. Some PFDs will be available. This class is for people 12 and older. Minors must have a guardian present and participating. Space is limited. E-mail activities@honeycreekresort.com.

9-11 a.m. – Kayaking Tour – Get closer to nature during this kayaking tour with a naturalist. This program is for people with some kayaking experience who feel confident in their abilities to shuttle, launch and maneuver their kayak. For people 12 and older. 7-7:30 p.m. – Dutch Oven Cooking Demo – Join a naturalist on the patio of the Activities Building to learn how to use a Dutch Oven for campfire cooking.

8-9:30 p.m. – Sunset Stand Up Paddleboarding – Experienced paddleboarderd may join a guide for an hour of paddle boarding along the resort’s shoreline. For all other requirements see Stand Up Paddleboarding entry above.

8:30-9:30 p.m. – Evening Hike – Join a guide to discover the happenings of the night. Meet on the deck of the Activities Building.

APPANOOSE COUNTY TOBACCO FREE COALITION, meets the third Thursday of each month at Drake Public Library.

PARKINSON’S SUPPORT GROUP, will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in Conference Room A at Mercy Medical Center. Patients and caretakers are welcome to attend.

FRIDAY 4

EXLINE FOURTH OF JULY, will include flag raising at 6:45 a.m., run/walk at 7 a.m., cutie contest at 10:30 a.m., pie contest at 11 a.m., poker run at 12 p.m., cake walk at Community Center at 1 p.m., Citizen of the Year announcement at 6:45 p.m. karaoke at 7 p.m. with fireworks at dusk. All day activities include a flea market, food court, gas engine display and tour the museum.

UNIONVILLE, MO. FOURTH OF JULY, will include a car show at 12 p.m., a parade at 2 p.m. and fireworks at dusk.

10–11 a.m. – Kayaking 101 – Learn to kayak for free. Participants get hands-on experience shuttling kayaks, getting in and out and paddling on the lake. Solo kayaks and paddles will be provided. Some PFDs are available. Must be 12 or older and minors must have a guardian present and participating. Participants must feel comfortable in the water. 11 a.m.–12 p.m. – Family Kayaking – This program is designed for children under the age of 12 with a participating guardian. The child and guardian will learn the basics of kayaking on dry land. When it comes time to launch, the guardian will wade into the water and hold the boat for the child then allow them to demonstrate their paddling techniques. PAUL DIXON AMERICAN LEGION POST 340, meets the first Friday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Legion Hall in Mystic.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY, is held every Friday at 6 p.m. at Centerville Assembly of God, 1020 E. Maple St. in Centerville.

MYSTIC FOURTH OF JULY, will include a parade, goat races, cutie contest, queen contest, talent show and fireworks at dusk. There will also be an all-day flea market, lunch served by the Masons, a raffle and food and beverages served all day at the park.

CENTERVILLE LEGION POST 214, meets the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Continental at St. Joseph’s in the meeting room to the right of the V.A. office.

APPANOOSE COUNTY WEEKLY MEALS, is an ecumenical/community free meal with fellowship every Monday night on Highway 5 north of John Deere at Faith Methodist Church. Meals are available from 5-6 p.m. The menu will be spaghetti casserole, lettuce salad, green beans, garlic bread and angel food cake with fresh strawberries for dessert with milk, lemonade, water,tea or coffee to drink. HCI Hospice Care Services will host this meal.
