Descendants of Franklin and Mary Curtice gathered Sunday, June 22. There were approximately 48 in attendance at the 35th annual Curtis/Curtice reunion which was held at the Promise City Community Center.
Tim Curtis asked the blessing over the cooperative dinner. Those in attendance who signed in were Tim and Wanda Curtis, Ethel Curtis, Thelma Curtis, Craig and Deb Corbett, Lloyd Curtis, and Larry and Elaine Recoy all from Promise City; Jerry and Joan Galbreath, and Vurdie and Jan Bunnell, of Seymour; Daryl Curl of Corydon; Dale Curtice, Jr., Gerald Dueland and Sandra Mitchell of Des Moines, Gene Jr. Curtis of Lovilia; Carmela Casteel, Alesia, Marty, Micayla, Kalob, Carmela and Soren McDaniels, Tiffany and Casey Curtis, Stephen Stonerock, Hoss Bostow, Lisa Saldana Green and Christian, Blake, Hannah and Halie DeVore all of Centerville; Ivan and Jo Curtis of Mystic; Alena and Brandon Fowler, Ethan Easton, Jessica Warren and Sophia Jones all from Leon; Gene Curtis and Sylvia Conn and Brenda Novotny of Plano; Daniel and Kaeden Nichols of Clio; Greg Allen and Tasha Moser of Blakesburge; Sandra and Jerry Dueland of Des Moines; and Rhonda Curl of Moline, Ill.
Tim Curtis presided over the business part of the meeting. Rhonda Curl discussed births, marriages, deaths and the reunion budget. Casey Curtis was given a gift card for being the youngest descendant present. Gerald Dueland was the oldest present with a gift card being presented and furthest traveler getting a gas card. Ethel Curtis was recognized for having the most descendants in attendance. All children present received a treat bag. The births reported were Casey Curtis, daughter of Tiffany Curtis and Sophia Jones, daughter to Jessica Warren and Ethan Easton.
Officers will remain as Tim Curtis, President; Janice Bunnell, Vice-President; and Rhonda Curl, Secretary-Treasurer for the 2014 reunion which will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the Promise City Community Center.
