---- — Hi folks. Just a quick little article this week.
It’s election time again and we have candidates running for our local positions.
In no particular order, our candidates are:
Jim Casteel and John Methany as mayor;
Maryann Hurley, Gary Hull, Jim Burns, Terry Hand and Annette Sinclair for City Council.
Voting will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Exline Community Center. Vote! It’s very important to vote so that you can have a representative as your voice.
Don’t forget to change your clocks Saturday night before bed. Ugh, yes, it’s that time of the year where it’s dark when you get home and when you get up.
Also it’s time to check all your smoke detectors and change the batteries.
The Royal Neighbors had a busy day on Saturday, Oct. 26. The organization donated a huge amount of warm weather gear (hats, gloves, scarves, turtlenecks) and household dishes, towels and hygiene products to the local women’s shelter. There were quite a few ladies on hand to help pack it up and help get it loaded.
The same day was the Halloween party at the center and what a blast it was. There were booths and games for all the children to play and get prizes. There was also the witch’s house with our resident witch. Approximately 50 people attended and fun was had by the children and adults who attended.
The Exline Store had a good crowd for their open house on Oct. 26 as well. Cider and cake greeted the customers and great discounts were also afoot.
Lastly, on Nov. 11 there will be the dedication of the military memorial at the cemetery. After the ribbon cutting everyone is invited back to the community center for coffee and goodies.
