---- — OTTUMWA — After more than 30 years at its current location, SIEDA Community Action will move many of their Wapello County staff to their newly renovated building at 310 W. Main St. in Ottumwa.
The new Wapello Resource Center will house Child Development administrative staff (Head Start and the Child and Adult Care Food Program), Family Support Services (FaDSS, Parents as Teachers, and Maternal, Infant, and Child, Home Visitation), and Housing Stabilization (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, Weatherization, and crisis assistance). SIEDA’s Behavioral Health and Treatment services unit will remain at 226 West Main, and the Head Start Preschool’s will also remain at their current locations.
Construction crews have been hard at work renovating since early October. The building will be complete by the middle of December, and barring any catastrophes, SIEDA will begin operating from the new location on Dec. 30.
Through SIEDA programs, individuals in Appanoose, Davis, Jefferson, Keokuk, Mahaska, Van Buren and Wapello counties are better prepared to meet their basic needs.
