---- — The public was invited to attend the Central Elementary family arts night Friday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the school.

Volunteers came together to provide presentations and demonstrations for adults and students alike. Student artwork was also on display throughout the school and cookie decorating was available in the gym where attendees could also bid on several silent auction items throughout the night.

Presenters for the night included Sharon Burch with Freddy the Frog and Centerville Flute Group with tribal drums and flutes. Students could also make their own African drums and their own maracas at two separate craft stations in different classrooms.

Many other volunteers also came together to show off their skills in demonstrations throughout the school. McMahon’s Tae Kwon Do showed off martial arts skills in one classroom while folk guitarist Gayle Hartwig performed in another and Scott Simmons played various rock guitar rhythms in another. JeNel Barth held a musical story time in yet another classroom while Centerville High School art students showed off their skills in another.
