Hi everybody. I’m happy we’re getting close to a little bit of spring. I don’t know about anybody else but a thought crossed my mind that if I won the lottery I might just have to buy an tropical island if this bad winter is going to continue to be like this every year.
This recipe is one I tried recently and oh sweet goodness I may have to lose the thing so we don’t eat to much.
Cream Cheese Danish
2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
2 pkg. cream cheese
1 c. sugar
1 egg white
1/2 c. powered sugar
2 Tb. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350F and grease a 13x9 inch baking pan. Lay a pack of crescent rolls in the pan and pinch the openings together. Beat the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and egg together until smooth. Spread the mixture over the crescent rolls evenly and then lay the second pack of crescent rolls on top of the cheese mixture and brush with egg white. Bake for 35-45 minutes until the top is golden brown. Top with glaze after cooling for 20 minutes.
Don’t forget the spring Easter dinner will be held at the community center on Sunday, April 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome. They will be serving roast pork, chicken and meatloaf plus tons of sides salads and desserts. Mark your calendar to attend. The cost is $7 for the meal and they will also be selling Easter eggs. Easter eggs will also be sold at the Exline Store on April 12 and 13.
The Exline Permaculture Society will be having their first meeting of the year sometime in April, date to follow. If you’re interested in gardening or any other form of permaculture, consider this group.
A sewing teacher for brand new sewer is needed. I have a sewing machine that I have tried to use numerous times and just keep getting stuff all messed up. The teacher must be willing to listen to cursing and crying. Call (641) 895-4022 if interested in starting a class.
