---- — B.V. Sodbusters 4-H club met on Aug. 18 at the Lelah Bradley Reservoir. The meeting started with a reminder that thank you cards need sent out for trophy donors and livestock buyers and that senior and intermediate record books are due Sept. 16 and junior record books are due Sept. 30 We went over some new ideas for the 4-H year and discussed the fair. There were new community service projects brought up. After the meeting, we enjoyed a cookout and then Amber Hoffman brought canoes for us to canoe and then we went on a hayride.
B.V. Sodbusters met on Sept. 22 at Breanna Thamke’s house. We went over getting enrolled online for 4-H. It was decided that the Adopt a Family shopping and fairground cleanup would count as meetings since no meetings are held in December or July. Information sheets were passed around to sign up for presentations, refreshments and different committees we could be on. Thank you cards were signed by all the members and will be sent to Amber Hoffman for the canoes along with a donation of $50 to the ACCB. We sent one to Pauline Donovan for donating her fan during the fair for the rabbit barn and one to Lockridge Lumber in Promise City for donating paint and paint supplies for the fairgrounds. The club voted to go to the corn maze in Knoxville next month. We also decided to do some more activities at the nursing homes.
Election of officers was held. Thee results were; Emily Steinbach, president; Tanner Swarts, vice president; Kylee Joiner, secretary; Brenton Willier, treasurer; Cessna Stufflebeem, recreation leader; Katy Pross, reporter; McKinley McClure, photographer; and Breanna Thamke, historian.
The meeting was adjourned and we had a hot dog roast. The next meeting will be Oct. 27 at the Extension Office. We will be having the installation of officers.
