CENTERVILLE LEGION POST 214, meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Continental at St. Joseph’s in the meeting room to the right of the V.A. office.

APPANOOSE COUNTY WEEKLY MEALS, a free meal and fellowship is held every Monday at Faith United Methodist Church on Highway 5 north of John Deere. Meals are available from 5-6 p.m. Rides are not being provided at this time. The menu for today will be vegetable beef soup, chili soup, crackers, vegetable tray and cupcakes with milk, water, lemonade, coffee and tea to drink. Exline Royal Neighbors will host this meal. The Weekly Meal Program will be canceled if schools close due to inclement weather.

TUESDAY 18

HONEY CREEK, 11–11:30 a.m. – Nature’s Toy Box – Join an interpreter in the lobby to investigate the toys nature provides for us. Participants must bring their imagination and be prepared for fun.

1–1:30 p.m. – Camouflage – Join an interpreter in the lobby to learn how animals use camouflage to survive and test your own skills of hiding and seeking.

3–4 p.m. – Nature Bingo Hike – Be the first to get a “black out” on your bingo card during this one hour hike. Meet at the Activities Building. Wear comfortable clothes. Be prepared to hike outdoes. Great for all ages.

BOB GROUP, meets at Centerville City Hall at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

JOIN NEST, a parent education class for expecting parents or parents with children up to 5 years old. Any parents can attend by filling out an enrollment packet. The class is Tuesdays at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Extension Office, 501 N. 12th St. in Centerville.

TAKING OFF POUNDS SENSIBLY, “TOPS,” meets Tuesdays at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. Weigh-in begins at 6 p.m. and meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Everyone welcome.

AMERICAN LEGION 280, in Moulton, will meet the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Legion Hall.

TOUCHING OUR GRIEF, an ongoing educational grief and support group though HCI Care Service, meets the third Tuesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. at the office HCI Care Services, 103 E. WEDNESDAY 19

HONEY CREEK, 9–10 a.m. – Trails, Tracks and Scat – Join a naturalist during this one hour hike to uncover the trails, tracks and scat animals have left behind. Meet at the Activities Building. Wear comfortable clothes. Great for all ages. The trails are relatively flat and easy to walk.

11–11:30 a.m. Mammal Clue – Which Iowa mammal is the only marsupial native to North America? Meet a naturalist around the lobby fireplace to learn about Iowa’s amazing wildlife and touch some furs.

1–1:30 p.m. Tricky Tracks – Join an interpreter in the lodge lobby for a hands on discovery about what trackers can learn by studying an animal’s trails, tracks and scat. Meet in the lodge lobby. Great for all ages.

UNIONVILLE IOWA LEGION POST, meets the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. at Legion Building.

NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS, meets Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. in the basement at Mercy Medical Center. Call (641) 856- 3398 with questions.

ROTARY CLUB, meets each Wednesday at noon at The Manhattan Steakhouse in Centerville.

THURSDAY 20

HONEY CREEK, 9–10 a.m. – Birding Hike – Join a naturalist for this one hour hike to discover the birds of Honey Creek Resort. Meet at the Activities Building. Wear comfortable clothes. Some binoculars and bird guides will be available but participants may want to bring their own. The trails are relatively flat and easy to walk.

11–11:30 p.m. – Nesting Supplies – As the birds return for the spring they will begin to build new nests. Join a naturalist in the lodge lobby to create a nesting supply box filled with materials birds can use.

1–1:30 p.m. – Birdfeeders

4–4:30 p.m. – Bird Bingo – Can you find a nest? Where will you find food for a bird? Join a naturalist on this half hour hike to find bird clues an deb the first to get a bingo. Meet at the Activities Building. Great for all ages.

APPANOOSE COUNTY TOBACCO FREE COALITION, meets the third Thursday of each month at Drake Public Library.

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS AND AL ANON, meet Thursdays at 8 p.m. in the basement at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Call (641) 856-3398 with questions.

PAUL DIXON AMERICAN LEGION POST 340, meets the first Friday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Legion Hall in Mystic.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY, is held every Friday at 6 p.m. at Centerville Assembly of God, 1020 E. Maple St. in Centerville.

1–2 p.m. – Beginner Fishing – This is a great class for beginners. Participants will learn how to tie a hook, cast and get hands-on fishing experience. Meet in the basement of the Activities Building. Wear comfortable clothes. Great for all ages.

4–4:30 p.m. – Lakeside Stroll – Join a naturalist for this half-hour walk on our newest lakeside trail. Meet at the Activities Building. Wear comfortable clothes. Great for all ages.

SATURDAY 22

HONEY CREEK, 11–11:30 a.m. – Sun Prints – Learn how we can use the sun to make art prints of nature. Meet in the lodge lobby. Great for all ages.

1–1:30 p.m. – Water Balloon Toss

2–3 p.m. – Choose Your Own Adventure Hike – Should we visit an overlook or the wildlife viewing blind? Will we look for animal clues or discover trees? Join a naturalist on this half hour hike and create your own nature experience. Meet at the Activities Building. Wear comfortable clothes. Great for all ages.

3–3:30 p.m. – Bubble Painting

6–6:30 p.m. – Nature Tales – Join a naturalist in the lodge lobby to hear a story about nature.

SUNDAY 23

T&C TRAILBLAZERS 4-H CLUB, will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser at Plano Christian CHurch in the Fellowship Hall from 12-1:30 p.m. The menu will be spaghetti, tossed salad, garlic toast, desserts and drink for a free will donation.
