---- — All at the 18-80 Club wish you and your family a very happy New Year. We are ready for nice warm weather already. We look forward for the new adventures and exciting opportunities for the New Year to come. Just a little reminder the 2014 yearly dues of $10 per person for the whole year is also due.
Friday, Jan. 10 we will have bingo at 11 a.m. just prior to our noon meal which will start at 11:30 a.m. The menu for the day will be loose meat sandwich on bun, potato tots, sliced carrots, Ambrosia salad and orange juice.
Tuesday, Jan. 14 we will have our first Wii golf tournament. It will run the same as the bowling day. The first heat will start at 10 a.m. followed by another one at 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. The winner of each heat will golf against each other immediately following lunch. The menu will be meatloaf, baked potatoes with sour cream, breaded tomatoes, peaches and orange juice. You must sign up for the day’s event just like you do for the bowling.
Wednesday, Jan. 15 we will have our Fresh Conversations program. It will start at 11 a.m. The topic for this month is “Falls in Winter.” As normal our menu for this day will be the chicken.
Thursday, Jan. 16 will be our evening birthday party with co-op. The evening starts at 5 p.m. with the meal and followed by bingo. Bring your favorite covered dish and your table service and we will enjoy the wonderful food. We really have some great cooks in our bunch. With the winter month this will be our only evening function.
Tuesday, Jan. 21 we will have our Wii bowling tournament. Make sure you are signed up for the day.
Wednesday, Jan. 22 we were to have a demonstration on “Card Making.” We will reschedule this program for next month. Watch the article next month for a definite date. Nancy Klum has graciously offered to give this demonstration.
Friday, Jan. 24 we will have some fun inside “Winter Games.” This will give us the ability to have some fun and dream of warmer weather to come. The menu for the day will be roasted turkey with dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, broccoli/cauliflower and raisin salad and plums.
Thursday, Jan. 30 we will have our 2014 trip meeting at 1 p.m. The menu for the day is meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, carrots, red fruited gelatin, hot rolls and juice. Come in and have lunch with us and stay for the meeting. We will be discussing the available options that have been set for 2014. This will include the one, two and three day as well as the longer trips.
Mark your February calendar for Thursday, Feb. 13 we will have our Valentine’s Day dinner dance at 5 p.m. I am also working on an overnight trip to Tama. I will have definite dates and start the sign up the day of the meeting on, Jan. 30.
In addition those going on the Washington D.C. trip in April, remember the final payment is due Feb. 15. We have a full bus for this trip. Contact the club if you have any questions about the trip.
