Friends of Drake Library hold its first 2014 meeting

The Daily Iowegian

---- — Meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 28 were the Friends of the Drake Library. The main business was reviewing last year’s reports and setting the goals and agenda of activities for this year.

Memberships are now due and you can be a member for $5 for a single membership or $10 for a family. Sponsorships are always welcome and so beneficial to our cause and the continued workings of the library.

One might see and take advantage of the new audio books thanks to the Joe Sharp family donation. And Cargill made a nice donation. It was announced that our library will benefit from the director Jami Livingston and JeNel Barth children’s librarian who will attend the national convention this summer in Las Vegas.

The January newsletter which each member received will give a nice review and the proposed events of 2014. There will be no February meeting and the March meeting will be Tuesday, March 25 at the regular 4 p.m. start and held on the second floor of the Drake Library. You are encouraged to attend and most of all take advantage of all the materials and tools offered at our Drake Library.

The Friends are grateful to everyone for the memberships, support and attendance of our year’s activities for all ages and the pride you display in knowing the library is for you the community and its people.
