Centerville Legion Post 214, meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Continental at St. Joseph’s in the meeting room to the right of the V.A. office.

Appanoose County Weekly Meals, a free meal and fellowship is held every Monday at Faith United Methodist Church on Highway 5 north of John Deere. Meals are available from 5-6 p.m. Rides are not being provided at this time. The menu for Monday will be ham balls, scalloped potatoes, cole slaw, French cut bean salad, homemade bread, pig-pickin cake, with milk, water, lemonade, coffee and tea to drink. First Evangelical Lutheran Church will host this meal.

TUESDAY 4

Bob Group, meets at Centerville City Hall at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Join Nest, a parent education class for expecting parents or parents with children up to 5 years old. Any parents can attend by filling out an enrollment packet. The class is Tuesdays at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Extension Office, 501 N. 12th St. in Centerville.

Taking Off Pounds Sensibly, “TOPS,” meets Tuesdays at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. Weigh-in begins at 6 p.m. and meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Everyone welcome.

American Legion 280, in Moulton, will meet the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Legion Hall.

Touching Our Grief, an ongoing educational grief and support group though HCI Care Service, meets the third Tuesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. at the office HCI Care Services, 103 E. WEDNESDAY 5

Honey Creek, 9–10 a.m. – Tracking Bingo – Look for animal clues and be the first to get a bingo during this one-hour hike with a naturalist. Meet on the deck of the Activities Building. The trails are relatively flat and easy to walk. Great for all ages.

Unionville Iowa Legion Post, meets the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. at Legion Building.

Narcotics Anonymous, meets Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. in the basement at Mercy Medical Center. Call (641) 856- 3398 with questions.

Rotary Club, meets each Wednesday at noon at The Manhattan Steakhouse in Centerville.

THURSDAY 6

Historic Preservation Corporation, will have its first Drive Thru Dinner for this year at State Street Station starting at 5 p.m. The cost per meal is $6. There will be a Drive Thru Dinner every first Thursday of each month for the remainder of 2014. Profits help pay for trolley expenses and insurance. On the menu for Thursday is pizza cavatini, vegetable, roll and dessert. Call 895-4513 for free delivery within the city.

Appanoose County Tobacco Free Coalition, meets the third Thursday of each month at Drake Public Library.

Alcoholics Anonymous And Al Anon, meet Thursdays at 8 p.m. in the basement at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Call (641) 856-3398 with questions.

Gamblers Anonymous, holds meetings every Thursday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Camel Club, 410 West Keota St. in Ottumwa. Call (641) 682- 8741, ext. 301.

Legion Auxiliary, meets the second Thursday of every month at 1:30 p.m. in the First Lutheran Church basement.

Parkinson’s Support Group, will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in Conference Room A at Mercy Medical Center. Patients and caretakers are welcome to attend.

FRIDAY 7

Celebrate Recovery, is held every Friday at 6 p.m. at Centerville Assembly of God, 1020 E. Maple St. in Centerville.

Memory Minders/Alzheimer’s Association, holds a support group on the third Friday of each month at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville at 9 a.m. Facilitator Sherrie Doggett may be contacted at (641) 437-4111.

Egg Carton Planters, 3–3:30 p.m.

Nature Tales, 6–6:30 p.m., Join a naturalist in the lodge lobby to hear a story about nature.

SUNDAY 9

Historic Preservation Corporation, resumes Gospel Sing at the Second Baptist restored church at 500 S. 18th St. at 6 p.m. These are held every second Sunday of each month. Bill Thom will perform and lead group singing. Once a month different groups perform and hymns are sung by all.
