The Blood Center of Iowa thanks those who helped at the July 1 blood drive in the Centerville area, especially those who recruited volunteers, organized the drive and donated blood to patients in need.

The volunteer spirit was evident in Centerville at the Mercy Life and Fitness Center on July 1 when 62 people responded with 42 units collected. There were eight first-time donors.

Chairperson Wilma Hearn played an important role in motivating volunteers and organizing the event.

The Blood Center commended the sponsor group, Chapters ER and AS of T.T.T., and the hospital auxiliary for their significant contribution to the blood drive. Also to the Mercy Life and Fitness Center for holding the blood drive in their facility.

The Blood Center appreciates all the volunteers and donors who made a valuable contribution to the blood donor program.
