May 1 is National Day of Prayer

Dear Editor,
We are living in very serious and uncertain times. Without God we may never be able to navigate the turbulent waters we are going through. But as long as God is on his throne, there is always hope as we read God’s instruction in 2 Chronicles 7:14.
Thursday, May 1, 2008 marks the 57th annual National Day of Prayer. The theme this year is “Prayer. America’s Strength and Shield” based on Psalms 28:7, “The Lord is my strength and shield; my heart trusted in him and I am helped.” As our Nation has many needs, prayer is important continually but it is incredibly important this year as we consider who will be elected in the congressional races.
Let’s join with millions of other Americans on May 1st as we pray for our nation. You are invited to be a part of the local National Day of Prayer event at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 1st at the Centerville Church of the Nazarene. See you there.
May God continue to bless America.
