Ned E. Bussey, 75, of Moulton, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 at Centerville Nursing and Rehab Center in Centerville.
He was born Feb. 24, 1938 in Linn County near Cedar Rapids. He was adopted by Francis J. and Mabel L. (Lasley) shortly after his birth. He graduated from the Davis County High School in 1958 and had a superior attendance record.
In 1975, Mr. Jack Crawford hired Ned to work at the Moulton Locker where he taught him the trade and became a valuable asset them. He worked for the Locker for more than 30 years before retiring. Ned was seen putting out the stop signs for the Moulton School every morning and afternoon. He enjoyed being on his CB and listening to the scanner. He liked to participate in all community and church activities in and around Moulton. He was a member of the Moulton Christian Church and the Moulton Cross Lines Center. Once he met you, Ned never forgot you, he was a true people person. A special thank-you goes out to the Moulton Christian Church, and their traveling singing group as well as the Moulton Cross lines Center and the Randy Welch Family for including Ned all their activities for many years.
In death, Ned rejoins his parents, Francis Bussey on Aug. 12, 1978 and Mabel Bussey on Feb. 21, 1981.
He is survived by many, many friends in the Moulton Community.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton with the Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation was held on Sunday from 12 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Moulton Christian Church and can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
