---- — Helen J. Myers, 84, of Moline, passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at Amber Ridge, Moline.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at St. Mary’s Church, Centerville. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111 First St., Moline, Ill. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Centerville. Memorials can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Centerville or Amber Ridge Memory Care, Moline.
Helen was born April 4, 1929 in Centerville, the daughter of George and Antonia (Kozeliski) Grenko. She married Harold Myers on July 15, 1950 in Moline. He preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 1996. Helen was a former member of the Croatian Crest Club, Moline and a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union of America. She enjoyed fishing, going to auctions, music and dancing.
Survivors include her niece, Carol Bigham; cousins, Steve Zaputil, California and Delores Cullison, Rock Island and sister in-law, Ruth Ann Opp, Coulterville, Ill. She was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Bigham, nephew, Dennis Bigham and cousins, Tony and Danny Zaputil and an aunt, Draga Zaputil.
Helen’s family would like to express thanks to Helen’s special neighbors Mary, Joan and Mike and to Jane and the staff at Amber Ridge and Heartland Hospice for taking such good care of her.
