---- — Rose Olga Clark, 103, formerly of Drakesville, died at 6:32 a.m. Aug. 21, 2013 at Ridgewood Nursing and Rehab Center in Ottumwa.
She was born Oct. 21, 1909 in Numa to William and Sara Merrit Coomes. She married Marvin O. Clark on March 12, 1932. He preceded her in death in September of 1984.
Rose had been a resident of Drakesville since the early 1970s, having previously lived in Centerville and Davenport. While living in Davenport, she had worked at Bishop’s Cafeteria and Spartan’s Discount Store.
Rose was a life member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Centerville.
Surviving are her daughters, Frances (LaVern) Fenton of Drakesville, Mary (Keith) Pencil of Libertyville and Kay Coleman of Fairfield; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joy Eleanor Clark; a son, Richard Clark; four sisters, Kessie Rupe, Mary Catherine “Bobbie” Howdeshell, Actie Calanan and Betty Wentzel; four brothers, Harry, Ambrose, Otis and Edward Coomes; a son-in-law, Gary Coleman; two granddaughters; a great-grandson; and two great-granddaughters.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wesley Chapel Cemetery with her great-grandson, Aaron Helterbran, officiating.
Visitation begins at noon Friday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
