---- — Jacob Glen Herr, 36, of Davenport, formerly of Centerville, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City after battling cancer.
Jacob was born Nov. 25, 1976 in Centerville, the son of Carolyn Ann (Fowler) Herr and Peter J. Herr. Jake was raised in Cincinnati and attended Centerville schools.
Jake enjoyed spending time with friends and family, watching movies, fishing, playing video games and listening to music. Anyone who spent time with Jacob will remember him as a kind-hearted, caring friend.
Jacob is survived by his father, Peter Herr of Davenport; his sister Jenna Herr, of Iowa City; his niece, Aaliyah Winder of Iowa City; his uncle, Roger Herr of Davenport; stepsisters Jody (Jared) Seddon and Julie Stevens of Centerville; his aunts and uncles, Randy (Mary) Fowler of Des Moines; Dannie (Nyla) Fowler of Cincinnati; Roger (Pam) Fowler of Cincinnati; Kathy (Steve) Edwards of St. Louis, Mo.; Jeanne Selvy of Minnesota; David Fowler of Moravia and James (Andrea) Fowler of Ottumwa; and his cousins, Curtis Conn; Dannie and Krystal Fowler; Chad Fowler; Ian, Nathan and Mark Fowler; Shelby and Damien Selvy; Tyler and Jayden Fowler; and Emma and Olivia Fowler.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn (Fowler) Herr; grandparents, LaVern and Donna Fowler of Cincinnati and Jacob Glen and Florence (Harris) Herr; great-grandparents, Vern and Alma (Farley) Herr; uncle, Gary Herr; and aunt, Venetia (Herr) Biehn.
Jacob was cremated by Weerts Funeral Home in Davenport and a private family interment is being planned for a later date.
