Delvian “Del” Padellford, 84, of Centerville, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
She was born the daughter of John Willis and Elsie Eileen (Scott) Cramer on Sept. 16, 1928 in Prescott. She graduated from the Cromwell Community High School in Cromwell.
In 1950, Del was united in marriage to Jerry Sias, they were later divorced and then in 1966, she was united in marriage to Ray Padellford in Omaha, Neb. She was a specialized bond writer for State Surety Company in Des Moines for a few years and then in 1969 after moving to Centerville, she began doing day care for children. She was a member of Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville where she was a Deaconess and help with several church projects. Del was an avid card player and enjoyed playing games with her children. She was a part of the Canasta Club and the Lord’s Cupboard in Centerville.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Ray Padellford in 1973; a step-son, Steve Padellford; grandchildren, Rochelle and Danny Roberts in August of 1997; and a son-in-law, Jim Mix.
Del is survived by: her sons: David Sias of Centerville, Randy Sias and his wife, Jeannie of Ottumwa and Marty Sias and his wife, Penny of Centerville; daughters, Susan Weber and her husband, Mike of Harper and Carol Mix of Wichita, Kan.; step-son, Lynn Padellford and his wife, Marilyn of Des Moines, Mark Padellford and his wife, Geri of Woodbury, Minn.; 12 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Darlene Abel of Creston, Opal Moffitt of Thayer and Delores James of Bismarck, S.D.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 at the Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville with the Rev. Sara Galindo officiating. Burial will follow at the Nevada Cemetery in Nevada at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
