Shirley Darlene Wyldes, 78, formerly of Moravia, went to be with her Lord at 5 p.m. Jan. 17, 2013 at Vista Woods Care Center.
She was born Dec. 26, 1934 in Brushy, to Benjamin Samuel and Iza Mae Fenton Tracy. She married Jim Wyldes on July 3, 1954.
A cheer leader, homecoming queen and graduate of Centerville High School, Shirley lived in Ottumwa from 1954 to 1991, moving to Moravia in 1991.
She had worked for more than 10 years for Home Oil Co.
Surviving is her husband, Jim; a daughter, Susan (Mike) Prough of St. John, Ind.; two sons, the Rev. Bryan (Kathy) Wyldes of Ottumwa and Brad Lee (Alena) Wyldes of Arlington, Texas; two grandchildren, Benjamin (Nicki) Wyldes and Erin Wyldes; a great-grandson, Briar Lee Wyldes; two sisters, Lavon Tracy of Davenport and Marilyn Oswalt of Centerville; and a brother, Bert Tracy of Centerville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Loyde Tracy.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the Rev. Tim Dobson officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery in Centerville.
