---- — Allen Gene Bellinger, 50, of Centerville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at his home.
He was born May 21, 1963 in Odessa, Texas, the son of Gale and Jackolyn (Swink) Bellinger. Allen was raised in Centerville and graduated from Centerville High School with the class of 1981.
Following high school graduation, Allen enlisted in the Air Force. Upon his discharge from the military, Allen worked for a brief period of time with IPB in Washington, Iowa. He later became employed with Walmart in Kirksville, Mo., Centerville and most recently, in Knoxville, where he served as assistant manager. His career with Walmart would span a period of more than 20 years. Allen was recently working for Joe’s Quick Shop in Centerville.
In his free time he enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing computer games.
Allen is survived by his father, Gale Bellinger of Centerville; a brother, Greg “Bulldog” Bellinger of Centerville; two sisters, Tammy Bellinger of Des Moines and Patricia “Trish” (Jay) Bellinger Howard of Altoona; 10 nieces and nephews, Genda and Jessena Burns of Des Moines, Staff Sergeant Aaron Thomas of Misawa, Japan, Siera Mae Rummans of Centerville, Dallas Knode of Des Moines, Jack Howard of Altoona, Saydie Rummans of Oskaloosa, Cheyenne Knode of Des Moines, Jayson Howard of Arkansas and David Howard of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and his son, Cody Bellinger.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 at the Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene in Moravia with Pastor Terry Chapman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the family and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
