Those who knew Mary will miss the caring, patient and giving person who touched so many lives, gave so many hope and served her Lord so well. Those same people will cherish the gift of love she left behind and celebrate her heavenly position.
She is survived by her three children, Peggy Carter of Lincoln, Neb., Dennis (Sherri) Doggett of Seymour and Denise (Randy) Eddy of Centerville; seven grandchildren, Amy (Rick) Carter Allen, Emily (Tony) Carter-Walsh, Ty (Mindy) Doggett, Kari (Jason Quinn) Doggett Camenisch, Morgan (Clint) Collins, Shannon and Rachel Eddy; nine great-grandchildren, Steele and Beau Allen, Dylan and Kieran Walsh, Porter and Tate Doggett, Cael Camenisch, Jordan and Ava Collins; brother Robert Melton of Cedar Rapids; and sister-in-law, Carol Melton of Cedar Rapids.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Neil Doggett; son, Alan Doggett; a brother, Fred Melton; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Melton.
l services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Mike Finn officiating. Burial will follow in the Numa Cemetery. A visitation will be held all day Friday at Lange Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials have been established to either the Seymour Methodist Church or the Numa Cemetery Association and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
