Jacquetta Rose Morrison, daughter of Clyde and Zelma Kaster McKern, was born July 2, 1930 in Centerville. She attended country grade school and graduated from Centerville High School in 1949. On June 7 of that same year, she was united in marriage to Charles Morrison in Centerville. They became the parents of three children, Craig, Cindy and Christy.

Following Charles’ job with Hy-Vee, they purchased the Gambles Store in Montezuma in 1964. After selling the store in 1968, she went to work for Brownells, retiring after 23 years. They lived at Lake Ponderosa and Jackie loved “laklivn” and sports. She enjoyed watching all sports, boating, golfing, bowling, cards, board games and puzzles. Her greatest enjoyment was watching her grandchildren in high school and college athletics. Whether it was a physical injury or an injury that could be solved with her hug, Grandma was always there.

She was a member of the Montezuma United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women and the Brownells’ Retiree Coffee Club.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Morrison, on Aug. 17, 2006 and several brothers and sisters.

Those left to honor Jackie’s memory include her son, Craig (Sue) Morrison of Montezuma; her two daughters, Cindy (Keith) Hudnut of Montezuma and Christy (David) Hall of Montezuma; her eight grandchildren, Chad (Marisa) Hudnut, Shaun (Andrea), and children Isabelle, Addison and Maddux Hudnut, Kara Hudnut, Ryan (Monica), and children Easton, Nolan and Baby Hudnut, Tim (Betsy) and Harper Morrison, Pat (Corey), and their children Logan, Luke and Isaac Morrison, Darcy and Jalessa Hall, and her twin sister Josephine Kennis of Bettendorf.
