---- — Goldie Maxine (Farris) Fowler, 87 of Cincinnati, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at her home.

Maxine was born Oct. 14, 1925 in the Union Township of Putnam County, Mo., the daughter of Hiram E. and Blanche Mae (Ross) Farris. She graduated from Cincinnati High School in 1943. On Aug. 25, 1945, Maxine married James Calvin Fowler in Troy, Kansas. James preceded her in death in July of 2010.

She confessed her Christian faith in 1938 at the Disciples of Christ Christian Church in Cincinnati. “You are in God’s will, Is He in yours? When we get to the place where there is nothing left but God, we find that God is enough.”

Maxine is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Patty) Ann Fowler of Cincinnati; granddaughters, Kathy (Rod) Perry, Nancy Buban, Melissa (Mark) Syferd and Alice (Cody) Heidenwith; great-grandchildren, Erin, Robbie, Alicia, Tanner, Tatum, Tabby, Trevor, Calvin and Zach; and great-great-grandchildren, Chase and Anna.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-grandson, Joshua; sister, Geneva; and brothers, Eldon, Keith, Jack, Jerry and Neil Farris.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery, west of Cincinnati. A visitation will be held from 12-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory with the family present from 5-7 p.m. that evening.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Mercy Hospice of Centerville and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
