Margaret E. Douglas, 98, of Centerville, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
Margaret was born Sept. 13, 1915 in Buxton, the daughter of Ludwig and Sigrid (Carlson) Johnson. She married James Douglas on Sept. 12, 1936 in Crown Point, Ind. She worked at Willier’s Pharmacy and was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Centerville.
She is survived by two children, Gary (Joanne) Douglas of West Des Moines and Debbie Douglas of Unionville, Mo.; one grandchild, McKenzie (Ken) Disselhorst of Palmyra, Mo.; and two brothers, Bob (Ruth) Johnson and Bill Johnson both of Albia.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents, Ludwig and Sigrid Johnson; and three brothers, Leon Johnson, Howard Johnson and Don Johnson.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14 at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville with Pastor Jeremy McElvain officiating.
A memorial has been established to Long Term Care at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville or Hospice of Central Iowa and may be left or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville.
