Troy Alan Fenton

Troy Alan Fenton, 38, of Burlington, died Sept. 20, 2013 in his home, surrounded by family.

Born on Oct. 8, 1974 in Burlington, he was the son of John Fenton and Linda Sue Ashby. He was a 1993 graduate of Burlington High School and attended Southeastern Community College.

Troy was baptized in the Church of the Open Bible and always cherished his teacher and mentor Larry Farrel.

Troy owned and operated T.F. Mixed Martial Arts and was a personal trainer with Sports Worx. Troy was a 6th degree black belt. He was a well-known teacher of the martial arts with many of the area youth and had recently begun working with people with disabilities and assisting with rehabilitation.

His passion was working with his kids and encouraging all to succeed. He loved hunting, loved to be out in the woods and was always eager for deer season to begin. He loved to fish and watching Kansas City Chiefs and Iowa Hawkeye football. He was an amazing dad who always put his children first. Troy did not know a stranger. He was a very unique person and was loved and will be missed by many.

The Iowegian wants readers to think about building code compliance. One Centerville resident at Monday's City Council meeting proposed the city create two new positions in the police department to only deal with minimum housing and nuisance abatement issues. The city currently has George Johnson as the only employee assigned to enforce building code compliance issues. Does Centerville need more than just Johnson to enforce code compliance issues? So, the question of the week is, "Should Centerville hire additional help to assist George Johnson enforce building code compliance issues?"

A. Yes
B. No
C. Not sure
