Larry (Loose) Long, 73, of Centerville, died Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Aspen Rehab and Health Care in Silvis, Ill.
Larry was born March 4, 1941 in Plano, the son of Lewis E. and Margaret Pearson Long. He married Judith West Sept. 18, 1960 in Centerville. Larry was retired from the Army Corps of Engineers at Rathbun Lake.
Larry is survived by his wife, Judith Long; two children, Melinda (Duane) Berner of Stuart and Larry (Julie) Long of Walcott; grandchildren, Tasha (Larry Marvin) Norton of Moulton, Tiffany (Curt) Wolfe of Dexter, D.J. (Tahara) Norton of Johnston, Kristina (Josh) Renslow of Stuart, Kelli Berner of Stuart and Nathanael O’Connell of Davenport; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Terri Winters of Bowie, Texas and Linda (Danny) Kaster of Rathbun; and Mike (Butch) Long of Moulton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandchild, Jacob O’Connell; and a brother, Lewis (Junior) Long.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 at the Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Brian Hargrave officiating. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. at the Lange Funeral Home and Crematory.
A memorial has been established to the family and may be left at the funeral home.
