Garold Lee Stogdill, 59, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 in Des Moines after battling cancer.
He was born in Bloomfield on Aug. 28, 1953 and is the son of Elmer L. and Betty Jane Stogdill.
Garold spent his working career of 28 years at BIMCO in Bloomfield. He also was an avid freelance photographer and writer who had many publications of his photos and articles in various car and motorcycle magazines.
He was a long standing member of ABATE and the AMA and had a love of riding motorcycles and being involved in his church as well as his charities of The American Heart Association, cancer research and juvenile diabetes.
Garold was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Betty Jane; a brother, Harold Stogdill; and sister, Carol J. (Stogdill) Burdett.
He is survived by Ann Stogdill, aunt of Burlington; two nephews, Jason Burdett of Washington and Christopher Boughner of Kingman, Ariz.; as well as niece, Jacqueline Burdett of Centerville.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Dale Church in Centerville. Memorials submitted will be split among various churches and charities.
