Pastor Donna Herzfeldt-Kamprath officiated. A reception followed the service there. Cremation was at Eternal Hills Crematory.

Dr. Moore was born on Dec. 27, 1939 in Centerville, Iowa, and was adopted shortly thereafter by Paul and Juanita (Martin) Moore. He grew up there and earned his bachelor’s degree from Parson’s College in 1964.

Dr. Moore married Phyllis Hendricks on Feb. 14, 1960, in Fairfield, Iowa.

He went on to receive his master’s degree in microbiology from Iowa State University in 1966 and finished there with a doctorate in microbiology and immunology in 1969.

His first position out of college was in research at Miles Laboratories in Indiana, where he quickly worked his way to management. He later worked for Stauffer Chemical Company in Terrytown, N.Y., as a director of research and for Isolab in Akron, Ohio. He would also work for Midland, a medical research company, before being recruited to come to Oregon and work in research and development for Cell Tech Inc.

Following departure from that company, Dr. Bob and Phyllis remained in Klamath Falls, where he taught biology and microbiology for Klamath Community; College and had most recently begun a position in research and development with Desert Lake Technologies in Klamath Falls.

Dr. Moore enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. He also loved to cook and spend time with his family. He enjoyed bird watching and had even written poetry. He was known for his patient determination and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Phyllis of Klamath Falls; daughters and sons-in-laws, Paula and Larry Mandel of Noblesville, Ind., and Gina and Miel van Wanroy of Brussels, Belgium; grandchildren, Alyssa and Christian Mandel and Sebastian van Wanroy; and mother Juanita Moore of Centerville, Iowa.
