Two local students graduate from Central College

PELLA, Iowa — Two local students graduated from Central College in December 2006.

James Lange, son of Tom Lange and Lauren Lange, majored in business management. He is a graduate of Centerville High School.

Amy Pedersen, daughter of Kirk Orna, majored in elementary education. She graduated from Stillman Valley (Ill.) High School.

Truman State U names fall 2006 vice president list

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Truman State University has released the fall 2006 vice president for academic affairs' list. To qualify for the list, an undergraduate student must attain a semester 3.50-3.99 grade point average and must complete 12 semester hours of credit. .

Amy Daniels-Schweizer of Centerville was named to the list. She is an English major and is the daughter of James and Elaine Schweizer.

Higbee graduates from U of I during fall commencement

The University of Iowa held its fall 2006 commencement ceremonies Dec. 15-16, awarding 1,500 degrees.

Nathan Higbee of Centerville, an art major, received a bachelor of arts degree during the ceremonies.

U of I announces fall president’s list

The University of Iowa has announced students on its fall president’s list.

Bryan Koestner of Centerville, who is studying in the College of Liberal Arts at the university, was named to the list.

In order to be included on the list, a student must have a minimum 4.0 grade point average (4.0 is an A) in all academic subjects for the preceding two semesters, with a total of at least 12 semester hours of credit per semester during that period.

Central College announces its fall dean’s list

PELLA, Iowa - Bryan Johnson of Mystic, a sophomore and son of Tom and Becky Johnson, was named to the Central College dean's list for the 2006 fall semester.

The honor is awarded to full-time students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on a 4.0 scale while taking 12 or more graded credit hours for the semester.

Lowe named to Creighton dean’s honor roll

OMAHA, Neb. - Ashley Lowe of Numa was named to the dean's honor roll at Creighton University for the fall semester of the 2006-2007 academic year.

Full-time students who earn a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale are eligible for the dean's honor roll.

William Penn names fall dean’s list

OSKALOOSA, IOWA - William Penn University has announced that Jenna Miller of Centerville and Jenny Ogden of Moulton were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2006 semester. Jenna is the daughter of Debbie Miller and the late Russ Miller and graduated from Centerville High School. Jenny is the daughter of Gary and Debbie Ogden and graduated from Moulton-Udell High School.

To be included on the dean's list, a student must complete at least 12 hours of credit with a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

William Penn names Hatfield to president’s list

OSKALOOSA, IOWA - William Penn University has announced that Moravia Tasha Hatfield of Moravia has been named to the president's list for the fall 2006 semester.

DMACC announces fall semester honor lists

Des Moines Area Community College President Rob Denson recently released the names of students eligible for the fall semester dean’s and president’s list. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must have earned a 3.5 to 3.99 grade point average.

Benjamin Lange of Centerville, mortuary science major, was named to the dean’s list.

To be eligible for the president’s list, a student must have earned a 4.0 grade point average.

Sarah Carter of Seymour, an arts and sciences major, was named to the president’s list.

Sivetts-Herteen graduates

Lindsey Sivetts-Herteen of Centerville, who majored in arts and sciences, graduated from the Des Moines Area Community College during its fall commencement.
