Indian Hills Community College will be offering a Certified Nurse Aide course (Nursing Essentials I) on the college’s Centerville campus in April and May. This 75-hour course prepares students to take the OBRA test to become a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA).

The course will begin on Wednesday, April 9. Classes will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on the following dates: April 9, 16, 17, 23 and 24 and from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on April 11, 12, 19, and 25. Four clinical days are scheduled in an area long term care facility from 6:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. on April 26 and on May 2, 9, and 10.

The charge for Nursing Essentials I (CNA course) is $483 and there is a $30 fee for the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse class. All participants are required to have a criminal background and dependent adult/child abuse check prior to the clinical experience. The background checks cost $15.
