Kirkwood Community College has announced scholarship awards for the upcoming academic year. The scholarships are administered by the Kirkwood Foundation and made possible through the generosity of individuals, companies and organizations who wish to invest in the future through Kirkwood student success.

The Foundation plans to award a record $2.3 million in donated and endowed support for approximately 1,250 students in the 2012-13 academic year.

Recent Kirkwood scholarship winners from this area include:


•Chelsey Baker was awarded the Theodore F. Feder Scholarship Endowment Fund of Educational Assistance to Deserving Students in the amount of $1,000. Baker is a graduate of Centerville High School and is the daughter of Paul and Lisa Baker. This scholarship will support her studies in the Humane Officer Training program.
