Indian Hills Community College and Iowa State University have joined forces to make it more convenient for Indian Hills students who want to earn an associate degree and transfer to Iowa State to earn their four-year degree.

Through the Admissions Partnership Program, Indian Hills Community College students who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree at Iowa State will receive special benefits to help pave the way for academic success at both schools. Students accepted into the Admissions Partnership Program will receive the following benefits while still enrolled at IHCC:

• Guaranteed admission to Iowa State, provided all requirements are met

• Personalized mentoring and academic counseling

• Guaranteed early orientation and class registrati• Access to Iowa State libraries, career exploration opportunities, extracurricular activities, and recreat• Iowa State student discount prices for cultural and athletic events

• Their own ISUCard and e-mail account

This new relationship with IHCC expands Iowa State’s outreach with the state’s community college students. ISU piloted the program with Des Moines Area Community College in 2006.

Students who want to be a part of the Admissions Partnership Program must enroll at Indian Hills Community College as a degree-seeking student in a program appropriate for transfer. Following admission to IHCC, students will work with their IHCC advisers to complete and submit an Admissions Partnership Program application form.

A student who is accepted into the program by Iowa State will meet with their IHCC adviser prior to registration and consult with an ISU academic adviser to develop a transfer plan. They will then follow a course of study at Indian Hills that will meet Iowa State entrance requirements and fulfill college and program requirements for their intended major.

Additional information about the Admissions Partnership Program is available online at http://www.admissions.iastate.edu/partnership, through an Indian Hills Community College adviser or through an ISU transfer admissions counselor (800-262-3810).

Applications are available now at IHCC.
