Judging for the queen contest will be held July 16 at the First United Methodist Church at 6:30 p.m. and the crowning will be held on July 20 at the fairgrounds.



Kelsey Shanahan is the 17-year-old daughter of Johnny Shanahan and Michelle Sands. Kelsey will be a senior this fall at Centerville High School. She is involved in FFA, 4-H, basketball, choir, Girl Scouts, Food for America program and Bullying Hurts program. Honors received include Chapter FFA Degree, SAE Proficiency Award, Career Development Award and Academic and Varsity Award. Kelsey’s hobbies are playing basketball, riding horses, organizing activities and spending time with family and friends. Kelsey’s future plans are to attend Kirkwood Community College and major in Dental Hygiene.



Rachel Eddy is the 17-year-old daughter of Randy and Denise Eddy. She will be a senior this fall at Centerville High School. She is involved in 4-H, Student Council, National Honor Society, cross country, concert band, pep band, color guard, cheerleading, youth group and is a Bible School teacher. Honors received include Honor Roll, SCIBA Honor Band, SCIBA All-State Band alternate, Color Guard Captain and Intermediate Overall Showmanship. Rachel’s hobbies are running with her dog, reading, playing the saxophone and visiting new places. Rachel’s future plans are to attend either Iowa or Drake University to pursue a pharmacy major and a music minor.



Kaysie Pfannebecker is the 17-year-old daughter of Dwight Pfannebecker. Kaysie will be a senior this fall at Centerville High School. She is involved in 4-H, National Honor Society, cheerleading and dance where she is a student and teacher. Honors received include Honor Roll, Coaches Award for cheerleading, Most Improved Cheerleader and multiple placings at dance competitions. Kaysie’s future plans are to attend a four year college.



Brettany Sebolt is the 16-year-old daughter of Kevin and Carla Sebolt. Brettany will be a junior this fall at Moulton-Udell High School. She is involved in FFA, 4-H, Student Council, band, National Honor Society, SADD, Pride, choir, cheerleading and the Fairview Church Youth Group. Honors received include Who’s Who Among American High School Students, high Honor Roll and the Presidential Award for Excellence in Academics. Brettany’s hobbies are spending time with friends and family, babysitting, working at Fareway and canoeing. Brettany’s future plans are to attend Indian Hills Community College then transfer to a four year university to obtain a degree in Forensic Science and eventually become a Crime Scene Investigator.
