Celebrate the 4th of July with the community of Cincinnati on Saturday night, July 3. The Cincinnati Fire Department will hold their annual fireworks display at the park at dusk. Cincinnati always provides a beautiful display each year. It’s a show you won’t want to miss. Bring your family out and enjoy the evening.
July’s yard of the month will be chosen this weekend and announced in next week’s column. I received a few nominees this month so I can’t wait to see the outcome!
The Appanoose County Fair is just around the corner. The dates this year are July 19-24. This is a week packed full of fun. Be sure to come and watch the local 4-Hers while they participate in shows and to also come back in the evenings for the night’s entertainment. If you have any questions on scheduling be sure to contact the Appanoose County Extension at (641) 856-3885.
A tragic accident occurred on June 25 taking the lives of two men, David “Burt” Burton of Exline and Curtis Temple of Centerville. Burt was the husband of Ginger Burton and father of two young children, one of which attended the Cincinnati Elementary School. Prayers and thoughts are needed for these families to help them gain strength to pull through these tough times. There has been an auction fundraiser scheduled to help these two families with expenses. Moore’s Auction is holding an auction on July 9 at 5 p.m. at the Moore Auction House in Centerville. Donations of items for the auction are being asked for, if you would like to help out by donating please contact the Moore Auction House, or call me and I will arrange for items to be picked up. We would appreciate all your support with this.
Have a happy and safe 4th of July!
