OCT. 31, 1905: D.Ward King demonstrates his method of “the road drag” in the Courthouse and then on two blocks of West Washington Street.
OCT. 31, 1918: Tony DeZorzi’s house on the corner of North 10th and West Van Buren was blown apart by dynamite. DeZorzi had received three “Black Hand” extortion letters. One postmarked Chicago had a precise artist drawing of DeZorzi lying in his coffin with a stiletto knife sticking out of his heart.
