---- — The Appanoose County Historical Society’s ninth annual Haunted History Tour Saturday visited the graves of eight famous people with ties to Centerville and Appanoose County.
The local personalities and the people they reenacted were Enfys McMurry as Johnny Talbot, John Holeman as Paul Johnson, Rodger Kaster as Miles Bateman, Bill Milani as Gus Milani, Gary Anderson as Ira Perjue (and his father A.J. Perjue), Tyler Morgan as Edwin (Jack) Jones, Richard Talbot as Corse Payton and Debbie Robinson as Daisy Duckworth.
Approximately 45 attended the 75 minute tour that started at 3 p.m. under a clear and warm October sun and a cool northwestern breeze. The ninth annual tour finished with a 6:30 p.m. lighted luminary tour.
Contributing to the success of the Haunted History Tour were multiple volunteers, the city of Centerville, several local businesses, the Centerville High School, Friends of Oakland Cemetery and Boy Scout Troop No. 33.
