Perhaps the more interesting city elections will occur in Cincinnati and Mystic.
In Cincinnati only one incumbent filed to run for the four-year City Council seat and no one filed to run for the two-year term as mayor.
Incumbent Ron Shady and non-incumbents Patricia A. Fowler, Jack W. Kauzlarich and Robert D. Wireman filed to run for the three open seats on the Cincinnati City Council.
In Mystic, Frankie Belzer was the only person to file to run for the two-year term as mayor. Four incumbents and three non-incumbents filed for the five open at-large two year seats on the Mystic City Council.
Seeking re-election are incumbents John R. Hatfield, Philip D. Hudson, Arnold F. Pilkenton and Nancy Robinson. Challengers include Chris Chester, James Hatfield and Terry Whittom.
Rounding out the towns in Appanoose County are Moravia, where Irene Brooks was the only person to file for the two-year term as mayor and incumbents John Baty and Kenneth Martin with non-incumbent G. E. Luse filed for the three open at-large four-year terms on the Moravia City Council.
In Moulton, the position of mayor is not listed as being on the November ballot.
Two incumbents — Benjamin R. Hansen and Terry Pangburn — and Jason D. Ogden filed to fill the two open at-large four-year Moulton City Council seats.
