Gas prices increase

According to GasBuddy.com, average retail gasoline prices in Iowa have risen 12.1 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.66/g yesterday, according to their daily survey of 2,036 gas outlets in Iowa. This compares with the national average that has increased 4.1 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.61/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Bridge projects move forward

The Appanoose County Board of Supervisors met Sept. 3 in the Boardroom of the Courthouse and voted to approve authorization for Chairman Dean Kaster to sign contracts for Probasco Bridge for $155,635.50 and Deputy Bridge for $292,893.92 when contracts are available.

The board voted to commit $5,000 for FY 2015 to Chariton Valley Regional Housing Trust.

The board voted to approve the hire of Shelby Royer for 12 hours per week at $12 per hour with Diane Buss, CPC.

The Appanoose County Board of Supervisors next meeting is 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16 at the Courthouse.
